Ribble Steam Railway – September 12, 2015

No. 10283 “Progress” Sentinel 0-4-0 DM, built 1968

Just a few pics on this one. A trip to Preston Dock, where my dad used to work, was not a very good idea on the 33rd anniversary of his passing on.

No. 46441 British Railways LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 Built at Crewe Works in 1950
No. 1147 “John Howe” Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 ST Built in 1908. Boiler certificate expired in May 2015 and on display in the museum. (And little Shaz)
The one I went to visit… The DELTIC DP1 prototype. Built in 1955 at the neighbouring English Electric works. My favourite loco of all time, possibly as my grandfather worked on its construction. I have far too many models of this beast. This might be controversial, but I think one of the retired Class 55 Deltics should have been re-made as a mock-up of this one.
